11 Years a Girlfriend

A little over 11 years ago, I was jumping up and down in my room giddy as could be because the Parker Morgan had asked me on instant messenger to go get ice cream "to celebrate my first day of high school." On August 12, 2003, I attended my first day of high school, went to practice, ate dinner, and my parents met Parker for the first time when he came to the door to pick me up for our first date.  I remember it very clearly.  My dad asked when we would be back, and Parker said, "When do you want us to be back?" and my dad, without cracking a smile, looked at the clock and said "Oh, I don't know... about 10-15 minutes?" haha  I rolled my eyes I'm sure and Parker said, "Yes sir." Dad laughed and said, "What are you going to do in 10 minutes?" and Parker said, "I don't know, ride around the block I guess."  Finally, my dad said he was kidding and told us to have a good time.  We went to Dairy Queen and hung out for about an hour and he took me back home.

Fast forward a week and some change.  Parker and I had talked every night and as a 14 year old freshman, I really wanted to "define our relationship" so my friends would stop asking.  LOL.  Please note my sarcasm as I look back on it.  Anyways, I brought it up one night and he finally asked me to be his girlfriend on August 24... the day after our second date, which was to the Tracy Byrd concert at the Winterville Watermelon Festival.  He's been my boyfriend ever since :)
