Last week, Parker and I vacationed on Cedar Island. We rented a cute little cottage for the week to celebrate summer and our anniversary. It even had a little white picket fence!
I had never been to Cedar Island, but I quickly realized that it was in the middle of NO WHERE LAND.
Seriously, it was like driving to the end of the Earth. There was nothing around.
It was a very quiet, peaceful, and restful week - just what we were looking forward to!
For our anniversary, we spent the day in Beaufort (not too far away) on the waterfront. We visited lots of little shops and antique stores. We had ice cream at the General Store and watched boats go by. It was warm, but it wasn't super hot like it was at the end of the week.
For our anniversary dinner, we ate at a restaurant by the water. It was delicious!
When we got back to the cottage, we dug into our wedding cake and exchanged cards. As always, Allison from Vanilla Bean Bakery did awesome and it was delicious. (She makes an anniversary cake so that you don't have to eat frozen cake and it's included in the cost of the wedding cake!)
We spent time on the pier and at the beach throughout the week. We woke up one morning to watch the sunrise off the pier. It was gorgeous!
We also went horseback riding on the beach, but I'll do another post about that...
Anyways, it was a wonderful week and we enjoyed our vacation and each other!
