Clothes & Diapers: Ava Kate is wearing size 2 diapers, some 3-6 month outfits, and some 6-9 month outfits. It breaks my heart to pack up her newborn and 0-3 month outfits. I keep thinking, "Oh maybe she can wear this one more time," but it's time. I know it's time to pack them up and pass them on to Victoria's baby girl and Baby Cousin.
Eating & Sleeping: Can I just say how blessed we are that Ava Kate is a sleeper at night? Seriously, I don't know how I could stay sane if she was waking up in the middle of the night. She has been sleeping through the night consistently since she was about 8 weeks old. She's still on the same schedule, but will transition a bit as she begins to eat solids. We started solids, but she isn't exactly keen on them just yet. (She eats 5 oz bottles/nurses at 6:30, 10:30, 2:00, 5:30, and 9:30. She sleeps for about 1.5 hours between most feedings and sleeps from 10 pm to 6:30 am when I wake her to nurse her.)
Mood: She's still a smiley, giggly, sweet little baby girl. She is very social and talked most of the Christmas Eve service at church. She likes to shrill and blow raspberries. She rarely cries unless she is overstimulated and it's nap time.
Likes: She likes to play in the floor by rolling around or in her exersaucer by jumping up and down. She loves being tickled and giggling. She likes bath time and snuggles. She is starting to enjoy books more and more. She prefers to suck her thumb over a paci, and she still snuggles a blanket /clothes/burp cloth/bib when she gets sleepy. She is becoming more active and alert... and lots of fun!
Dislikes: She does not like it when Mommy, Daddy, or Mrs. Tabi walks out of the room. She also tears up a bit sometimes when a "stranger" holds her, but she warms up to you as long as you keep talking to her. She also does NOT like baby food. :(
Milestones: Sat with Santa, first Christmas, first baby food, trying to crawl, trying to wave, first tooth came in with another one right beside it
Sentimental Things Mommy Wants to Remember: Everything! Snuggles, kisses, giggles, precious outfits, smiles, shrills, and coos. I love it when she put her little thumb in her mouth, snuggles the blanket to her face, and lays her head on my shoulder. It just melts my heart y'all.
Practical Things Mommy Wants to Remember: I've been slowly reintroducing dairy and so far Ava Kate has done really well! She's been a little bit more fussy maybe, but that could be from the eventfulness of the Christmas holiday. She had one little speck of blood after I ate a slice or two of pizza, so I still need to eat it in moderation, but thank God, she seems to be handling it much better.
