On Friday, Ava Kate woke up with a wicked cough and a bit of a rattle. I figured it was just due to the weather changing and a couple nights of crappy sleep (which should've been my first clue since she has always been an excellent sleeper). Saturday it was more of the same... yesterday morning, she actually seemed a bit better. Then, last night she sounded terrible and acted pitiful. So, this morning, I took her to the doctor first thing.
I seriously thought she just had a cold. So did the doctor, who is wonderful by the way. But, Dr. G wanted to test her for RSV just in case, since it is going around apparently. Well good thing, because our little one tested positive. :(
So... what was an optional workday turned into a snuggly sick day with my sweet baby girl.
She is actually quite pitiful at times.
As you can tell by the coffee table, the couch has been our spot for most of the day.
She wants to be with her mommy, that is for sure. Sleeping, eating, playing some... but all in my arms.
Every time I put her down, she cries until she coughs up a lung. :( After reading approximately 1000 books and singing lots of songs... I had to break out Dora.
Ava Kate has never been interested in TV (except for about a week during the evening news)... so I can tell she doesn't feel so good. She just stared at Dora. Swiper did make her smile once though :)
Please pray for her to get better soon! Fortunately, we have a snow/ice day tomorrow, so no school!
