Eight Months

Weight: not exactly sure, but about 18 lbs

Clothes & Diapers: Ava Kate is wearing size 3 diapers and mostly 6-9 month outfits.

Eating & Sleeping:   She has transitioned to a new schedule since she is eating more food now.  She nurses/bottle feeds about 5.5 - 6 oz at 6:30, 11, 3:30, and 8.  She eats pureed veggies/fruits/cereal for breakfast (2 oz), lunch (3 oz), and dinner (4 oz), and at dinner, she also eats finger foods.  So far she's had just about everything pureed and for finger foods, she's had puffs, steamed carrots, pasta, kidney beans, corn, green beans, butter beans, boiled potatoes... and I think that's it.  She drinks a little bit of watered down apple juice with dinner.  She takes two naps a day, one from 8:30-10:30 in the morning and one from 12:30-2:30 in the afternoon.  She goes down at 8:15 at night and I wake her at 6:30 in the morning.

Mood:  She is super happy and precious!  I adore her little personality!  She's becoming quite the little social butterfly and such a ham... she loves smiling at people and batting her little eyes.  She had RSV for about 2 weeks, and she was very clingy that first week, so I could tell she wasn't feel very good.  Other than that though, she's a sweetheart!

Likes: Bananas, peaches, finger foods, funny faces, playing in the bathtub, "walking" with Mommy/Daddy's help, being tickled, snuggling with her blanket and sucking her thumb, reading books, buttons

Dislikes: Getting her nose wiped (which happened a lot due to the weather and RSV)

Milestones: Started drinking apple juice from a sippy cup, first time sitting in the shopping cart & restaurant high chair, moves from laying down to sitting up by herself, first sick day, first ice storm, first snow, she's thinking about clapping, first finger foods, she'll pull up on me/Parker to stand, will head butt you if you lean towards her and say "head butt" (I know that's a terrible thing to teach your child... but Parker taught her how, haha), is learning what "no" means.... wow, this was a busy month!

Sentimental Things Mommy Wants to Remember: A string of snow days let me be a "stay at home mom" and we got to play and read and snuggle lots!  It was wonderful :)

Practical Things Mommy Wants to Remember: RSV was no fun :(
