the Morgan's: Welcome Aliza!

One of my dearest friends, Carrie just delivered her third child. To describe how much Carrie and her husband, Beaty, mean to me would be nearly impossible. Not only has she helped me to strengthen my relationship with Christ, she has always been a source of "older sister" information. She is always an open book when it comes to moving to college, starting a teaching career, planning a wedding, becoming a wife, and one day becoming a mom. She and Beaty sang at our wedding and Beaty sang at Mom's funeral. Both occasions are very special and sentimental moments that I hold close to my heart.

These two special people make some very special and gorgeous babies. I have always been smitten with her older two, so I knew this one would be no different. During the weeks leading up to the delivery, I was "on call" to keep Hallie & Davis when it was time for Carrie & Beaty to head to the hospital. Around 2:45 am on Tuesday morning, Beaty called and said it was time.

I was SO excited to spend some time with the kids, and Hallie must have known, because she woke up at 6:00 am asking for her Daddy. When I shared the news that he and Mommy had gone to the see the doctor because it was time to meet the baby she was tickled pink. Even at 6 am she is too cute for words!

Davis, too, was excited and anxiously waited to visit the new baby.

While we waited, Hallie practiced taking care of her baby in the bassinet.

Later that afternoon, while Hallie napped, Davis and I drew and drew and drew some more. He is a very dedicated colorer as you can tell...

Here are some of our masterpieces. You can tell he has a thing for the outdoors, hunting, and animals. :)

These two are so sweet together. Hallie adores Davis and wants to do everything he does. Davis clearly takes pride in taking care of and teaching her. After her nap, he very patiently showed her all of our drawings, making sure to carefully elaborate on even the tiniest details. :)
