This past weekend, we went to the river with our family for Easter. It was Ava Kate's first over night trip to the river, and trust me, she loved all the attention!
She went to her first Tea Time on Friday and of course all the ladies loved her. She loved looking at and talking to them... but she was too busy to be held. We have to work on our manners a bit apparently. (Tea is when all the ladies on the street meet for drinks each day at 5 pm, rain or shine.)
We played with Grandma Lyly, Granddaddy Jack, and cousin Abi a lot! Reading books was a hit, as usual!
I braided Abi's hair and it made me excited for Ava Kate's hair to grow so I can braid hers one day too! I can't wait for Ella Paityn (aka Baby Cousin) to be born so we can throw another girl into the mix! :)
At night, when kids went to bed, the parents played their own games. Haha!
But, my favorite part of every Easter weekend is the sunrise service on Easter morning. All the neighbors gather on the river for scripture reading, a message, and music. This year, we were greeted by dolphins and ducks in the river! So cool!
We eat breakfast with everyone and then head home to get ready for church. I love being able to worship with our family and our church family on Easter Sunday!
When we got home, Ava Kate dug into her Easter basket! She thought it was pretty cool!
I couldn't end this post without showing you her cute little
"He is not here; he has risen, just as he said"
Matthew 28:6
