This Thanksgiving we deviated from some traditions and kept others... and some are currently on pause. Last Wednesday night, we celebrated with our Wednesday Night Dinner crew (Amanda, Cory, Amber, & Jarrett) with our traditional honey baked ham, baked mac and cheese, garden green beans, and yeast rolls. It was delicious!
For Thanksgiving day, we usually go to Parker's parents for lunch, but this year we went to my Aunt Kay's since we hadn't been in a while (Christmas was in the hospital, Easter was in the mountains...you get the picture). My Grandma Margie usually cooks a huge feast for Thanksgiving dinner, but she was sick, so the 15 of us went to Cracker Barrel instead. It was delicious and we played checkers while we waited. Oh, how I love family! :)
We do not do Black Friday shopping. I see nothing wrong with it, in fact I think it would be fun despite the people and late night/early morning loss of sleep... On second thought, it sounds terrible and I don't understand why anyone would want to do it. Kudos to you if you do!We do start decorating the day after Christmas! I was SO excited. So, after the ECU game (last home game of the season and a very big win I might add), we went and picked out our Christmas tree at Henry's trees. We put it up last night and well, I was reminded that I really stink at putting Christmas lights on the tree. I mean, I REALLY stink at it. My mom would just shake her head if she saw it. :)
We were going to finish decorating today, but apparently the stomach bug that my cousin, her husband, and triplets have made it's way down the table at Cracker Barrel and Parker has been up since the wee hours of the morning. Now he's in bed again... So, our decorating and Christmas shopping is currently on pause. Poor guy :(
I'm just hanging out, blogging, and oh wow - just realized that I'm watching football and the remote is free! Gonna fix that right now! Bye!
